Ride the Road
Things you Need to Know
We observe all County holidays. No Ride services on those days. Inclement weather can also change ride opportunity. This Ride opportunity depends on the ability to communicate with each rider. You must reply to all communication efforts for your scheduled Ride. We require 2 business days’ (48 hours) notice before the requested Ride date. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays do not apply to the 2-day notice. Requests received after 12:00 pm are considered next business day. For cancellations or changes to your scheduled Ride, please call 336.401.8266 as soon as possible. When leaving a message, please clearly state your name, phone number and date/s that require changes. You may not be the only passenger inside our Ride units. There may be multiple pick up and drop off locations along the way to your destination. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Please be available for pick up 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment.
- Properly use the seatbelt (Safety belt) at all times.
- No eating
- No smoking, including vaping
- No chew, dip or snuff tobacco
- No spitting
- No inappropriate behavior
- No loud and/or distracting music
- No speaking negatively or abusively to anyone.
- No vulgar or inappropriate clothing
- No weapons of any kind, we are in County property.
- No asking the Driver for their cell phone, money (any various forms: cash app, venmo, apple pay, paypal, etc.), and/or stopping at unauthorized locations.
- Stopping at unauthorized locations may result in discontinuation of ride.
- No destruction or vandalism of property in any way.
- Be respectful of everyone.
- Keep your hands to yourself, unless permission is granted. Ie. Hug, handshake, fist bump, etc.
Step 1: Getting on the Ride Calendar
Completing the online Ride Request form starts the process for us to get you to your recovery-based destination within Surry County.
Step 2: Getting on the Ride Route
All scheduled riders will be contacted to confirm the 2-day advance notification before 12:00pm. Once confirmed, you are placed on a route and assigned to a driver. If you do not confirm the 2-day advanced within the expected time, you are not placed on a route. Your Ride is canceled.
Step 3: Day of Ride Confirmation
It is now the day of the scheduled Ride; all riders will be contacted to confirm the Ride. Contact with Riders begins at 7:00am. All riders must confirm their Ride.
Riders must reply to all communication efforts within the time stated in messages to secure a seat and remain on the Ride. Riders at any time, may call the office to cancel or confirm a Ride in advance. Riders can also submit a request up to 1 year in advance to be placed on the Ride calendar.
